Having questioned four participants, I have evaluated the answers and concluded; Saw V was rated 34 out of a possible 40, the participants said they would carry on watching the rest of the film because it is exciting, gory, scary, sound of heart rate and setting; all elements building suspense and tension for audience making them wonder whats going to happen next. Final destination was rated 31 out of 40 so out of the two films Saw V was liked the most. Participants thought there was to much talking in the opening to Final Destination therefore meaning there wasnt enough action in the opening. But it was mentioned that the location was ideal for the genre being mystery and thriller. From the inforamtion collected about these thriller films I have concluded that our thriller opening should include plenty of action with minimal talking but the dialogue would also help the audience undertand the plot aswell. We need to choose the right location so that it will suit the genre to. The opening scene needs to be exciting maybe gory and scary but most definetly building suspense and tension for the audience throughout the opening.
These really need some evaluative comments. How will this research influence your own production?
